                                INSPECTOR NOTICES

Federal Pacific Electric Panels:
The Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors (KBHI) has issued an advisory regarding Federal Pacific Electric Panels.

According to:    Terry Slade,
Director, Division of Building Code Enforment,
Office of Housing, Buildings and Construction

The advisory has no force of law. It is an advisory bulletin from the KBHI on how the KBHI recommends that a Kentucky Licensed Home Inspector "should" handle a specific situation.

                                MISSION STATEMENT

KREIA is devoted to protecting the public through excellence in home inspections and advancing the profession of inspecting homes.

Home Inspectors should count on KREIA to speak for them and advocate the best interests of the profession.  KREIA will unfailingly speak up for home inspectors in all situations, whether it be legislation, public policy or other forums.  In doing so, KREIA consistently advances the best interests of home buyers, the home inspection profession, and other real estate participants.

Likewise, KREIA advances the public interest in professional home inspection, through education, improving standards and advocacy.  It is crucial for the public to be able to rely on a home inspection report when so many other influences, including contracts and other agreements, may depart from, or introduce other concerns aside from, unequivocally dedicated, undivided loyalty to the client alone.  Only home inspectors provide such services.  KREIA recognizes they do so at comparatively economical prices for the service provided.

In all events, the inspector and the public should be able to rely on KREIA to provide professional guidance and unstinting support in the home transaction process.  KREIA is committed to this policy and will constantly seek to further it.

KREIA Promotes Education and Professionalism for the Kentucky Home Inspector!

KREIA is recognized by the State of Kentucky as a Continuing Education Provider (KBHI CE-1005). KREIA provides quality economical educational opportunities to the home inspector in several formats, monthly meetings and our annual spring conference held each March in Lexington Kentucky.

KREIA’s 2006 Conference was considered by many in attendance to be comparable or superior to many of the national events. The 2007 Education Conference is shaping up to be even better, this year the conference will be geared strongly to provide the continuing education that is required by the State of Kentucky for the 2007 license renewals for both the veteran and the new professionals.

KREIA has been instrumental in providing members of KREIA the ability to obtain quality local education that has been accepted by multiple National Associations in the past years (ASHI, NAHI, NACHI). KREIA looks to continue this level of cooperation with the National Associations to benefit all of Kentucky’s Home Inspectors. As a home inspector, your membership in KREIA will provide you with reduced fees for educational conferences and educational meetings.

All Home Inspectors in Kentucky are welcomed and encouraged to join KREIA not only for the education but also the active voice at the state level. KREIA continues to be active in activities that effect the licensed home inspector.
